Thank you for waking me up this morning. My friends were kind of surprised to see me up and moving so early this morning. I try to get up by 8 am every morning so I have a routine and stick to it, but sometimes I give myself a sleep in morning as a way of nurturing my body, mind, and soul. I take this as quiet time to just rest, cuddle with my wife, and allow you to speak to me in my dreams.
There is something about cuddling that is so nurturing for me. When I was younger I used to cuddle with my stuffed animals or with my dog Puggy. As I grew up I found that I enjoyed cuddling with my partner of the time. There is nothing like cuddling and being held.
Cuddling nurtures my body and spirit. It always makes me feel loved. Maybe part of why I love being cuddled so much is that I did not get as much when I was born. I know my foster parents cuddled me and I know my parents, who adopted me, cuddled me, but it was in the before time that the cuddling was limited. When my wife cuddles with me it makes me feel protected and safe. I feel nurtured and loved. I feel relaxed and stress free. It is a time when I am not thinking about what needs to get done and the to do list before me. It is just me opening myself up to unconditional love and the warmth of being held. It doesn’t matter where it is, on the couch, in the bed, or in the car, it just makes me feel loved and nurtured.
So this morning I just want to thank you for the cuddle time in my life. For my wife, for my stuffed animals who still cuddle with me when I am sick and sometimes even when I am not. Thank you for the time to nurture my body, mind, and soul.
